
Debunking Myths About Sustainable Remediation
This session will present recent work published to dispel common misunderstandings regarding sustainable remediation (Smith, 2019). It will help you to appreciate some important lessons learned from the development and application of sustainable remediation over the past decade.
Jonathan Smith is currently the Groundwater Technology Manager for Europe and Africa at Shell. He has 25 years’ experience in contaminated land and groundwater assessment and management, having worked in policy, regulatory, academic and industrial organisations. He is a Visiting Professor of Contaminant Hydrogeology at Sheffield University, and the former chair of the Sustainable Remediation Forum in the UK (SuRF-UK).
