ALGA’s Groundwater Fate & Transport Special Interest Group (SIG) was pleased to announce the 2022 Groundwater Fate & Transport symposium in Melbourne on 18 November 2022.
This symposium offered the latest thinking and applications that combine these concepts, refine our understanding, and model and predict behaviour to share the latest insights, developments and applications for improving our performance of contaminant behaviour in the environment.
The underlying focus of the symposium was technical communication, with sessions focused on building CSMs that tell a story, getting a handle on contaminant distribution and just how much mass is mobile, and finally, the use of models to provide predictions and as visual tools.
The event provided a unique opportunity to share learnings. The presentations ranged from innovative ideas on displaying and communicating data to new (or not so new!) theories, techniques and programs to assess and model contaminant fate and transport.
