ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Nick Walker, Head of Environment and Sustainability, Melbourne and Launceston Airports.
Nick has led the environment and sustainability function at Melbourne and Launceston Airports for five years after a career spanning government, consulting, construction and client-side. The generational M3R project is an opportunity for Nick to apply knowledge from these sectors to ensure the new runway minimises environmental impact, maximises opportunities for local communities and embeds regenerative design opportunities throughout construction and operation.
Rachael Young, Senior Environment Advisor, Melbourne and Launceston Airports.
Rachael has been working at Melbourne and Launceston Airports for three years and focuses on environmental planning approvals and site management across a broad range of airport development projects. Rachael’s previous career experience has been with State government native forest management in Queensland and infrastructure asset management.
Peter Parsons, M3R Design Manager / Program Manager – Airfield, Melbourne Airport
A Program Manager at Melbourne Airport, Peter has led the infrastructure planning and design for the proposed third runway and supporting other airfield projects for the past six years. Peter is a Chartered Civil Engineer and has over 15 years of experience in the planning, design and project management of airfield infrastructure and has worked on airport projects located in Australia, the UK, the Middle East and Africa.
